Pretend to Bee fancy dress review & discount codeFancy dress. Yet another thing no-one warns you about when you become a parent is the number of fancy dress costumes you’ll have to produce, often at short notice. World Book Day, Red Nose Day, Farm Day, let’s-dress-up-for-the-hell-of-it day – the list goes on.

It starts as early as the baby unit at nursery, and if BB’s first year in reception is anything to go by it will continue throughout primary school. I had visions of lovingly whipping up our own creations at home, but the reality is you’ll suddenly find out everyone’s expected to go in fancy dress on Friday. And it’s Wednesday. (Why do they do that?)

Before kids I was the sort of person who would turn their nose up at the ready-made supermarket offerings, vowing to make my own cats ears, bunny tails and princess gowns. But quite frankly life is too short – and so is time if you’ve only got 48 hours’ notice.

So when kids’ fancy dress company Pretend to Bee got in touch to see if we’d like to review one of their baby dress up outfits and offer a discount code for their outfits I said ‘Yeeessss!’ Help is out there people!

They’ve got everything from character costumes to occupation costumes – including specific Roald Dahl Day and World Book Day characters – and if you order by 3pm they’ll deliver the next day.

They’ve got a gorgeous Cloudbabies range and Little B is now the proud owner of this Baba Green outfit which comes complete with its own soft watering can.

Pretend to Bee review 2

The all-in-one is made of super soft 100% polyester plush with an extra-long zip for nappy access and a cloud on the front pocket, and comes with a rainbow printed hood, which of course he wouldn’t keep up for photographs!

It will be perfect for his next few fancy dress days at nursery as well as to wear at home (he didn’t want to take it off because it’s so snuggly!), and with a price tag of £22 I think it’s reasonable for a fancy dress outfit that will get lots of wear.

The Cloudbabies range also includes super cute outfits for baby girls with little belts and booties, and Pretend to Bee also has everything from monster to pumpkin and giraffe costumes.

Even better, Pretend to Bee is offering Confessions of a Crummy Mummy readers 10% off orders for the next two weeks, until Saturday May 7. Just enter the code PRETEND16 at the checkout. And if you spend more than £25 there’s free postage too.

I was sent the Cloudbabies Baba Green suit free of charge for the purpose of review. As always all opinions are my own and based on my own honest experience.
