Murder on the putting greenIt might sound like the working title for the next Midsomer Murders, but sadly not. That’s exactly what happened just yards from my living room window on Monday night.

While watching TV, totally oblivious to what was going on less than 100 metres away, a man was apparently violently attacked and died. It’s the sort of thing you hear about in inner city somewhere, but not on the sea front in Hove.

It’s now Friday and no-one’s been arrested. So you could say we have a killer at large. The police and forensic people have been outside all week, presumably combing through every blade of grass.

They’re finally packing up (pictured). Within an hour there won’t be any sign that anything untoward happened, save for a single bunch of flowers on the putting green.

How quickly we come, and how quickly we go.
