This is me when I was four. Tomorrow BB turns four, and as you can see we look quite alike.

When BB was born she looked just like her daddy, but as time has gone on BB looks more and more like me, and like I did at the same age.

She’s so excited about her birthday. As I write her Frozen cake is complete (it’s over on Instagram – how to make Olaf out of fondant icing will be on the blog next week), her new Frozen bike is hidden in the garage along with a huge bunch of helium-filled Frozen balloons (I went a bit mad) and we’re all set for a family party tomorrow.

The plan is to lay out all her presents, the balloons and her cake tonight so they’re there when she wakes up in the morning.

The Big Build Up has been going on for weeks, with lots of ‘chats’ (‘let’s chat about my birthday mummy’) about what will happen on the big day, and for the last 10 days we’ve been counting down the number ofΒ  ‘sleeps’.

It’s possible I’m more excited than she is.

I was slightly concerned about what will happen afterwards when it’s all over and there’s nothing left to look forward to, but yesterday she said: ‘after my birthday we can start writing my Christmas list, can’t we mummy.’

Indeed we can…
