Abra-ca-Debora reviewIt’s Pancake Day, it’s Pancake Day it’s P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P Pancake Day! We LOVE pancake day in our house, so I thought we’d better get some practise in. We’ve been making pancake faces for breakfast (pictured) – and what fun!

We made ours using Abra-ca-Debora’s ready-made pancakes – the sort of thing I’d usually turn my nose up at but with Little B on the scene is the perfect time and hassle-saving solution that doesn’t require brain function.

They come in original dutch, sweet dutch and ‘diddy’ dutch (these are so cute!) formats and recipe suggestions include eggs benedict pancakes, margherita pancakes (the pizza, not the drink), diddy dutch kebabs and my favourite: pancake faces.

They’re easy peasy lemon squeezy to prepare: simply stick them in the oven, pan fry them or pop them in the microwave and they’re ready for their topping or filling. We used a range of fresh fruit to make our faces including blueberries, raspberries and strawberries, and to make it even easier the website has pictures you can follow to give you some ideas.

I was quite surprised at how authentic they look given they come straight out of a packet – they really look like you made the batter and fried them yourself. They cost £2 a packet for the original and sweet pancakes (which are currently half price for £1 at Tesco) and £1.49 for the diddy ones.

Of course there’s nothing quite like flipping a pancake with homemade batter, but when you’re hot footing it from one thing to the next with kids in tow why make work for yourself?

Abra-ca-Debora sent us the pancakes free of charge for the purpose of review. As always all opinions are my own and based on my own honest experience.
