Who exactly are they?

Life Sequence is the only provider of green, ethical and beautiful mystery boxes offering a new and unique way to shop for luxury baby and toddler gifts.

mystery box

Each Life Sequence mystery box contains a handpicked collection of items such as toys, creams and blankets chosen for their green and ethical credentials while at the same time offering a discounted way to buy gifts for babies and toddlers.

How does it work?

The first Life Sequence ‘drop’ is at 4pm on Wednesday May 12, 2021 when 50 unisex boxes designed for babies aged 0-6 months and 50 unisex boxes designed for babies and toddlers aged 1-2 years will be released.

Each box costs £200 which is guaranteed to be at least 25% less than the rrp of the contents inside. To put that in context, each £200 box contains items worth £267+.

What’s inside our Life Sequence mystery box?

We were gifted a unisex 1-2 years mystery box containing approximately 50% of what will be inside the boxes for sale. Our box included:

A Pure & Dimple organic hooded baby towel (rrp £34.50)

With a six layer muslin construction Pure & Dimple’s unique toddler towel ‘blots’ the skin dry as opposed to rubbing and irritating it. It’s super soft and made from 100% GOTS certified organic cotton which hasn’t been bleached and is completely dye-free, making it low-impact on the planet and extra gentle on skin.

mystery box

A bottle of Little Herbs baby oil (rrp £25)

Designed for both bath and massage time, Little Herbs baby oil is a gentle blend of vitamin-rich, nourishing seed oils including rosehip seed, known as nature’s ‘miracle oil’. It’s packed with goodness including vitamins, trace elements and Omega 6 and 3 to heal and restore and can help protect your baby’s skin from dryness – perfect if you have a baby with cradle cap like me!

mystery box

A laughing rabbit rubberwood plate (rrp £19.99)

The perfect alternative to plastic tableware, these ethical wooden plates are made from sustainably-sourced rubberwood, which is strong, durable and naturally resistant to fungus, bacteria and mould. Each face is made by heat-etching, so the depth of shading is achieved without any ink or chemicals, and for every plate sold a child in need is fed for a day through the World Food Programme.

mystery box

A Wee Gallery organic snuggle blanket (rrp £19.95)

With bunny ears for your little one to hold and grab onto Wee Gallery’s organic snuggle blanket features a smooth organic cotton jersey front and a fluffy soft organic cotton sherpa on the back – perfect for bed and nap time snuggles! It’s screen printed with eco inks so eco friendly and designed with visual development in mind owing to its monochrome use of colours.

mystery box

A Wee Gallery bamboo nesting hedgehog (rrp £24.99)

Made from sustainable eco-friendly bamboo and designed for babies aged 18 months+ this nesting hedgehog is nestable, stackable and with sturdy pieces for little hands and creative play. It comes in a cotton bag for storage and so you can keep all the pieces together.

mystery box

How can you get your hands on a Life Sequence mystery box?

If you want to be among the first to get your hands on one of Life Sequence’s mystery boxes you can register for drop updates on the Life Sequence website and follow Life Sequence on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook for news and teasers on their mystery boxes as they arrive.

As well as green and ethical products the packaging is eco friendly too: the parcel box is 80% recycled; the parcel tape is made from natural rubber adhesive; air pillows used to protect your items are made from compostable potato waste and delivery is carbon neutral.

My verdict

I’ve never bought or received a mystery box before so for me the experience was just that – a complete mystery! My box arrived beautifully packed and tied with a ribbon and each item inside came with a tag or label explaining what it was and why it’s sustainable.

mystery box

It was refreshing to see baby items in neutral, unisex shades rather than gender specific candy pink or baby blue colours and the products inside are all high quality and beautifully made.

If you’re looking for a luxury, high-end gift this is certainly it – I think anyone receiving a Life Sequence box will be left with a smile on their face!
