Flashback Friday 4(3)It seems like a lifetime ago that I walked down the aisle and became Mrs Misery Guts. In fact it was two lifetimes ago: in 2010 before either BB or Little B had graced us with their presence.

We were lucky enough to be able to get married in the crypt at St Paul’s Cathedral in London. Afterwards we bussed everyone back to Chertsey in Surrey where we were living at the time, and we had our reception in a marquee in a park in the grounds of a farm belonging to some friends.

My favourite photos are actually the ones that weren’t posed for, and I’ve picked a selection here.

A family of swans and their cygnets had been visiting the park for several weeks in the run up to the wedding, and I really hoped they’d make an appearance on the day. They did.

Guests included the Loch Ness monster, who had been given a new home by our friends after she retired from nearby Thorpe Park. She had been given a new coat of paint for the occasion and a new hat, and remains in the Abbey River in Chertsey to this day.
